Head Chef / Owner

Chef David Welch is the concept creator and owner of Fire Craft Foods, LLC. Chef Welch is an accomplished 25-year veteran of the culinary industry. A long-time Houston resident, Chef Welch has worked in a wide variety of restaurants throughout his professional restaurant career. He graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris in 1996, with a “Grand Diplome Le Cordon Bleu”, a distinguished degree with honors and merit. Because of his hard work and focus, Welch earned premiere opportunities to work and perfect his skills in some of Paris’ most acclaimed restaurants, including Chez Maxims, Guy Savoi, and Le Closerie Du Lilas to name a few.

Chef Welch has been working in Kingwood for the last 20 years, beginning in partnership with Tony Raffa of Amedeo’s and Raffa’s Waterfront Grill. Most recently, Chef Welch ventured out on his own, honing his talent for pit smoked and roasted meats through both a food truck and catering operations.  He has won many awards and accolades from local food festivals and BBQ competitions, from both attendees and judges for his careful attention to flavor and presentation.  

Chef Welch is proud to announce the opening of his first brick and mortar location, Fire Craft BBQ, located at 2665 Royal Forest Dr. Suite B10, Kingwood TX 77339.  He and his talented team have combined the concept of a small French kitchen with a BBQ restaurant and continue to offer the highest quality smoked & roasted meats, southern sides and desserts that can be found anywhere.
